What is the main goal for this project?

The problem Elifa aims to solve is that people do not think about what will happen when they or a loved one dies. As a result, families face a number of challenges when a loved one dies, including

 

- Finding out whether end-of-life arrangements have been made.

- Conflicts arising from differing opinions about the deceased's

wishes.

- Preserving the deceased's legacy, not only assets but also

memories and life stories.

- Unrealised and inappropriate distribution of assets to loved

ones.

- Emotional and financial hardship for survivors.

 

Elifa's plan is to solve this problem - through our secure

digital vault where individuals can plan and protect their personal, financial,

end-of-life and legacy plans. The platform facilitates sharing and meaningful

conversations about death between family members, reducing the potential for

conflict and providing peace of mind.


We would like to collaborate with students to review and post content promoting our company.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:


  • Familiarizing themselves with our target market, products and services.
  • Help us with marketing content in the form of posts, emails, newsletter and blogs, etc.
  • Deploying content according to our social media to increase website traffic.
  • Overseeing our channels and keeping them up-to-date.
  • Recommending search engine optimization (SEO) strategies so our materials are easily accessible.
What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?
  • Content creation: Comparative research on what some of our competitors are doing well to create content that creates engagement and community growth so that we can consider similar themes for our strategy.
  • Developing and recommending a digital marketing strategy for Elifa to adopt - we do not currently have a formal strategy. We post on Facebook, IG and LinkedIn but it's the same content for all three platforms. 
  • Our biggest drive at the moment is to build our social media community and drive people to our website to get them on our waiting list so that we can show investors that we have people interested in our service. It is also to have a community to start with when we launch. Can you help with a strategy to create this community and grow the waitlist?
  • MVP communications strategy and launch campaign: We plan to launch our MVP in May and want to start building some excitement around it. We plan to have a freemium model and a premium where we charge users a minimum fee. Can you help us with a strategy to generate interest and some material or suggestions for launching the MVP on our social media platforms and email marketing to the people who have provided us with their email addresses? 
  • Email marketing - we are starting to receive email addresses and would like to start sending emails to our email subscribers. Could you recommend the best way to do this and a suggested email from the moment people register to opt in for correspondence from Elifa. We are not selling anything at the moment, but I thought there might be ways to maintain interest in our service and build excitement for what is to come.
  • Blogs - I have drafted titles and potential blogs and would love some help in doing final drafts on these blogs as well as having one or two Elifa blog layout templates designed for us on Canvas or somewhere so that we can use these for all our blogs going forward.
  • It can help us to just schedule them for a couple of months and know that we are driving traffic to our website and getting some exposure. 
  • Newsletters - help with one or two Elifa newsletter templates on Canvas or wherever I can use for newsletters (either from Elifa directly or from the Linkedin option).
  • Content creation: We have a clickable prototype of our product and currently have not used it enough to promote understanding of what we offer and how it works. Can we get help on the best way to create a buzz and hype around our platform by using the prototype to create short videos, clips to show people how it would work etc.? We could also use some of these to put on our social media platforms and website. 
  • Graphic design: social media graphics for Elifa - some templates with our branding that I could use to post things and edit as needed. 


In the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Familiarity with our target market, products and services
  • Deployment of marketing content
  • Updates to our channels

Bonus steps would include:

  • Recommending SEO strategies

Final deliverables should include

  • Marketing materials.
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Our products and services
  • Our marketing strategies
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
What skills or technologies will help learners to complete the project?

In order to complete this project, students can self-teach, but it is beneficial to be familiar with:

  • Business marketing and brand awareness

Again, students can complete this project without any of the prior knowledge listed here. Students will be expected to research and learn more about the above as the project goes along.
