Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

Elifa (https://elifa.io) plans to simplify end of life and legacy planning through our secure digital platform where individuals can safeguarding their personal, financial, end of life wishes, and ensuring their legacy lasts. They can plan, store and share this information with loved ones at their discretion or with our dedicated in-house solicitors.

We also plan to have a hub for end of life and legacy service providers conveniently accessible through our platform. We aim to drive social change, one family at a time.

We are transitioning our business model from B2C to B2B (our competitors focus more on B2C, we know customers know that death is inevitable yet they do not plan or discuss it with loved ones; lastly, we aim to scale globally and we know we will not be able to do this with a B2C model). We therefore aim for B2B model focusing on providing a digital vault solution to insurance companies, law firms, legal and financial advisors and pension houses.

Our Digital Vault Solution is to help people secure their important documents in one central place, their end of life wishes as well as their legacy (we feel everyone has a story to tell and we want to help them ensure that their legacy lives on for generations to come).

To accomplish this, we believe you will need to conduct the following research:

  1. Our organization’s costs, target customer, revenue targets, and business goals.
  2. The competitive landscape
  3. Organizing focus groups, surveys, and/or customer discovery interviews to get input and feedback on potential pricing models.
  4. understand if Direct 2 consumer or Business to Business is the best model for us as Elifa

We want to enter this new market with a proven pricing model so that we can have a successful launch.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

Final deliverables should include:

We believe our digital vault can be a valuable addition to insurance companies, law firms, and legal/financial advisors because these businesses have existing clients who are aligned to our objectives. The businesses can be our clients so that they offer the vault as an added service to their clients at ‘no cost’, or promote it to their clients on our behalf, however the clients come to us if they are interested. By providing a secure platform to these businesses, it will help with document management, client communication, end of life wishes and information all stored in some place to make the administration should the inevitable happen easier, and client legacy education more than just financial planning, it can increase efficiency and improve client satisfaction. We also aim to position Elifa as a complementary service to already existing employee benefits to corporates.

Research and Advice Requests:

Market Research:

·     How do these professionals typically manage client information?

·     What methods do they use for communication and ensuring up-to-date client data across teams, clients and their loved ones, including methods used for sharing information and ensuring data accuracy?

·     I am aware of possible CRMs that companies use as well as client portals – but would these achieve what we aim to achieve? Do they talk to each other and the clients?

·     Would a digital vault solution like Elifa be something they consider integrating into their workflow?

Competitive Landscape:

·     Identify existing solutions used by our target market for client communication, data management, and document storage.

·     Evaluate their strengths and weaknesses compared to our platform.

Positioning Strategy:

·     How can we best position our digital vault solution to resonate with insurance companies, law firms, pension houses and legal/financial advisors?

·     Do these entities currently offer similar solutions for client document management, communication, and client/loved one education and awareness?

·     Is there an opportunity to position our digital vault as a complimentary service within existing employee benefits packages offered by corporations?

·     Based on the competitive landscape, what pricing model or partnership structure would be most attractive to our target B2B market?

Outcomes:

·     Market research insight

·     Gain valuable insights and a possible refined B2B positioning strategy for our digital vault solution (from B2C to B2B).

·     What would our go-to-market strategy be based on this research and outcomes?

·     Identify potential roadblocks and opportunities within the B2B market.

  1. A written report including an Executive Summary that illustrates your research findings and recommendations on our pricing model.
