What is the main goal for this project?

Breelove Wellness (https://www.breelove.ca/) is a mental health clinic for all, prioritizing, Black, Afro Indigenous, Indigenous, racialized people, and Queer communities that has been serving clients across Canada for the past 12 years. This year, we are embarking on an initiative to enhance our reach and offerings through the launch of an online community. We are seeking a marketing student to create a social media strategy and help us build our platform on Circle.so

This new community, hosted in Circle.so, will serve as a hub for comprehensive mental health resources, incorporating not only traditional counselling services but also holistic modalities such as nutrition, naturopathy, herbalism, and other alternative therapies. This holistic approach acknowledges the interconnectedness of mental, physical, and spiritual well-being and seeks to empower individuals to take an active role in their health journey.

With the launch of this online community, we seek creative minds, passionate creators, and diverse influences that have valuable personal perspectives to contribute to this community.

For this project you will need to

  1. Understand our brand and mission, with the support of our marketing team.
  2. Analyze, develop, and enhance the Breelove Wellness platform on Circle.so alongside our team by uploading relevant content, organizing programs, events, workshops, and fostering a vibrant online community space.
  3. Support the creation and production of a social media strategy and promotional content to increase awareness and engagement with Breelove Wellness among target communities.

How will you support learners in completing the project?

  • Facilitation of regular mentorship sessions with Magda (Operations Lead) and Hannah (Marketing Lead) to provide guidance, feedback, and support throughout the project.
  • Opportunity for the student intern to articulate their learning goals and interests, with flexibility to tailor project tasks and experiences accordingly.

What skills or technologies will help learners to complete the project?

  • Access to a reliable internet source, and computer
  • Attention to detail
  • Creativity and/or a personal passion for topics we’re involved in
  • Entry level marketing skills (copywriting, design, strategy)

Time breakdown (estimate):

  • Guidance from team: 5 HoursMeeting with our Branding and Operations leads for exploration of areas of interest within community mental health care, marketing, social media management, and platform development to enrich the student's learning experience.
  • Healing Library Upload and Content Finalization: 40 hoursComprehensive plan for uploading the entire healing library content onto the Circle.so platform, ensuring organization and accessibility for users.
  • Development of standardized formats and templates for consistency across different types of content (e.g., articles, videos, podcasts).
  • Quality assurance process to review content for clarity, cultural sensitivity, and alignment with trauma-informed principles before publication.
  • Social Media Reach Roadmap: 35 hoursDetailed roadmap outlining strategies and tactics to increase reach and engagement on social media platforms.
  • Clear objectives for each phase of the roadmap, such as follower growth, content engagement metrics, and community interaction goals.


What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?
  1. Social Media Strategy Development: a. Conduct research on target audience preferences, behaviours, and platforms. b. Develop a way to increase user engagement and audience reach on instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook c. Implement strategies for community engagement, including user-generated content initiatives and interactive campaigns. d. Create social media content to post.
  2. Platform Enhancement on Circle.so: a. Upload content that has already been created to the Breelove Wellness platform, including articles, videos, and resources to the healing library b. Work with our Marketing and Operations lead to create a engaging, beautiful and welcoming space within Circle.so to engage our different tiers of community. d. Explore features and tools offered by Circle.so to optimize user experience and encourage participation.


How will you support learners in completing the project?

  • You will also have access to our networks which includes the Coralus and Lift Economy who are doing business to benefit all life. We work under TEAL management and can offer students a new perspective on how to run a business.
