What is the main goal for this project?
Our research lab publishes dozens of papers every year to promote projects in our field of research. All of these papers require background research to support the validity of our findings.
We would like to collaborate with students to support our research process by analyzing a list of assigned papers. This provides us with useful information regarding the latest findings and current gaps in research.
This will involve several different steps for the students, including:
- Familiarizing themselves with our research projects and the types of background information we are interested in.
- Reading a list of assigned papers and summarizing their findings.
- Identifying gaps for future research.
Bonus steps in the process would also include:
- Comparing papers to identify similarities / differences in research perspectives and results.
- Working with researchers to draft an academic paper.

In order to complete this project, students can self-teach, but it is beneficial to be familiar with:

- Academic writing
Again, students can complete this project without any of the prior knowledge listed here. Students will be expected to research and learn more about the above as the project goes along.
