Our company has dozens of employees with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We are interested in promoting a safe and comfortable work environment that promotes productivity.

We would like to collaborate with students to conduct an ergonomic assessment of our workplace.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

• Identifying our objectives for ergonomics and understanding employee feedback.
• Establishing a standard assessment method.
• Assessing data and prioritizing areas of improvement.
• Creating a timeline to mitigate risks and implement change.

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

• Recommending ergonomic assessment tools for future use.

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

• Identification of objectives
• Establishment of a systematic assessment method
• Assessment of data based on the established method
• Creation of a timeline for risk mitigation

Bonus steps would include:

• Recommending ergonomic assessment tools

Final deliverables should include

• A final report.
• A presentation.

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

• Our work environment
• Our current understanding of workplace ergonomics
• Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.

In order to complete this project, students can self-teach, but it is beneficial to be familiar with:

• Workplace ergonomics

Again, students can complete this project without any of the prior knowledge listed here. Students will be expected to research and learn more about the above as the project goes along.

• A walkthrough / tutorial of our current work environment and understanding of ergonomics
