The main goal of this project is to identify strategies, techniques and tactics to increase the number of visitors to the LocalStudent website and obtain a high-ranking placement in the results page of search engines. This will involve several different steps for the students, including:
- Analyzing the current website and identifying areas for improvement.
- Researching and understanding the algorithms used by search engines.
- Developing a comprehensive SEO strategy.
- Implementing the SEO strategy and tracking the results.
- Optimizing the website for better performance.
- Researching and implementing additional tactics to increase website traffic.

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

Students will work closely with their project manager who will supervise them and be available to help and answer any questions they may have. This will also include bi-weekly progress meetings with the project manager where feedback will be provided, and adjustments to the students' strategies, tasks and duties can be made if necessary. Regular communication will be conducted via slack and WhatsApp.
Compensation: Payment by funder C$1,400.00

In order to complete this project, students can self-teach, but it is beneficial to be familiar with:
- Search engine optimization (SEO)
- Website optimization
- Analytical and research skills
- Understanding of algorithms used by search engines
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Again, students can complete this project without any of the prior knowledge listed here. Students will be expected to research and learn more about the above as the project goes along.
