Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

NOTE: Students & Instructors are encouraged to read & review our AFAQs.

A paper study to publish a report on the opportunity and scale of economy for single use of materials in the medical industry.

Conflict Mineral Mining, Corporate Social Responsibility (Metal, Plastic and Cardboard).

Scope:

  1. Researching areas for Recycling, & Reducing Metal, Cardboard, Paper + Plastic Consumption in medical industry.
  2. Assessing opportunity for use in Homes, Roads, Park Benches (including non-medical space).
  3. Quantifying opportunity for recycling Special Steel Alloys in medical industry.
  4. Proposing conceptual designs to address engineering needs.
  5. Generating engineering drawings pertaining to product compatibility with the Healthcare Industry.
  6. Monitoring synthetic materials returning to source of use within medical industry.
  7. Reducing Carbon Foot Print (CFP), need for metal mining as well as conflict mineral mining.
  8. Evaluating impact on deforestation in rain forest areas as a result less clear cut logging.
What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

Tasks to be executed:

  1. Research areas to Recycle & Reduce Metal, Cardboard, Paper + Plastic Consumption in medical industry.
  2. Assess opportunity for use in Homes, Roads, Park Benches (including non-medical space).
  3. Quantify opportunity for recycling Special Steel Alloys in medical industry.
  4. Propose conceptual designs to address engineering needs.
  5. Generate engineering drawings pertaining to product compatibility with the Healthcare Industry.
  6. Monitor synthetic materials returning to source of use within medical industry.
  7. Reduce Carbon Foot Print (CFP), need for metal mining as well as conflict mineral mining.
  8. Evaluate impact on deforestation in rain forest areas as a result less clear cut logging.
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Support is available from Team members "C" level executives at MGBS per need.

The Student Team and IP decide frequency and length of meeting.

Meeting frequency and time are focused on students to successfully achieve Project goals and objectives.

The top contributing factor for Project success is an ability to escalate and resolve delays.

What skills or technologies will help learners to complete the project?
  1. Process Task Mapping using visuals related actions and decisions.
  2. Engineering skills to:
  3. ==> Design materials for recyclability of metallic, synthetic, and paper products.
  4. ==> Generate blueprints (CADD or equivalent Type).
  5. MS Excel - Database, Project Task, Time Monitoring.
  6. Powerpoint (or equivalent, Canvas).
  7. Google Suite (Sheet, Document, Presentations).
About the company

As a business process improvement coach & consultant I worked with several corporations in different continents over 31 years. After a successful 6-year work experience at General Electric Corporation, I founded my company in 2000, and have been fortunate to successfully deliver in a variety of industries such as manufacturing, technology, transactional as well as service type environments. Having published scientific & technical articles, including authoring 5 US patents I released my book on Lean Six Sigma in 2011. I converse reasonably in Dutch, and Spanish, the skills of which I acquired during my consulting times. To date, the total annualized direct customer benefits have accrued to several hundreds of millions of dollars across the globe in more than 20 years. I enjoy outdoor activities, and meeting people. I am thankful to my mentor (s), past employers, and my professional network members without which most achievements would have been impossible.
