Details

Prairie Grants Corp. seeks to enhance its financial modeling capabilities for small and boutique private equity (PE) firms. The project involves developing Leveraged Buyout (LBO) and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) models tailored to the unique needs of these clients. The goal is to create robust, user-friendly models that can be easily adapted for various scenarios and client requirements. Students will apply their classroom knowledge of finance, particularly in financial modeling, to design and test these models. The project will provide practical experience in financial analysis and modeling, aligning with the curriculum of finance majors, especially those pursuing a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Deliverables

The deliverables for this project include two comprehensive financial models: one for LBO and another for M&A scenarios. Each model should include detailed assumptions, inputs, and outputs, along with a user guide for easy adaptation. Additionally, a presentation summarizing the models' functionality and potential applications will be required. These deliverables will demonstrate the students' ability to apply financial theories to real-world scenarios.
