Details

This project focuses on helping a healthcare staffing startup understand how to become a registered vendor for healthcare staffing contracts in the province of Alberta, Ontario, BC, Newfoundland, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia. The goal is to identify the steps, documentation, and eligibility criteria required to be added to relevant procurement portals or master vendor lists used by healthcare authorities in Alberta, Ontario, BC, Newfoundland, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia. By narrowing the scope to a single province and a single step in the procurement process (vendor registration), this project ensures that learners can effectively apply research and analytical skills within a manageable and well-defined context.

Deliverables
  • Conduct online research to identify the main healthcare procurement portals or systems used by Alberta, Ontario, BC, Newfoundland, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia (e.g., Ontario Health, Shared Services West, Saskatchewan Health Authorities, etc).
  • Determine the vendor registration process, eligibility criteria, and required documentation for each province.
  • Identify key decision-makers or departments involved in vendor approval.
  • Review publicly available examples of approved vendors or supplier guidelines.
  • Deliver a procurement readiness report (3–5 pages) summarizing research findings and a step-by-step roadmap to registration.
  • Present findings in a short summary slide deck (max 10 slides) with a visual process map.
