Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

Our company would like to re-designing our current website! We're looking for an exceptional design student to own the complete redesign of our simple website. We are looking forward to giving you complete creative liberty!

We would like students to design and create a prototype for a new website using no-code solutions of your choice (for example, Webflow.)

This will involve:

  • Identifying key areas of our current website and what areas of focused might return the best results in a redesign.
  • Learning and using various software design tools. For example: Figma, Webflow, or other web design tools currently available.
  • Creation of a screen by screen UX / UI prototype of a website which can be used on all major browsers and be mobile friendly

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

  • Conducting UX / UI testing with real potential users.
  • Building the website! (Using no-code solutions and some support from our team.)
What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:

  • Familiarize themselves with OnDeck and our mission to create healthier oceans and sustainable fisheries.
  • Familiarize themselves with a design tool of their choosing and understand how it works. (Figma, Webflow, etc.)
  • Design and build inside of the design tool all the needed screens for a redesigned website.
  • Present the final design screens to us with the context of all their choices they made, problems they encountered, and next steps they recommend.

Bonus steps would include:

  • Conducting any sort of user testing on the prototypes to ensure ease of use and to collect user feedback.

Final deliverables should include

  • The design screens and all assets in a shareable format
  • A built out website, impressing hundreds/thousands/millions of visitors! (With support from our team.)
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will have a dedicated team member from OnDeck to offer consistent support. Senior leadership is available for mentorship throughout the project if students are interested. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Current product understanding
  • Industry standard design tools and applications
  • Any sort of branding or styling advice
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter
