Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

The objective of this project is to develop compelling visual resources that facilitate effective all Hazards training and exercises. With the power to generate weather updates, news broadcasts, alert messages, and images depicting the consequences of infrastructure failure, such as simulated flooding, broken dams, and collapsing bridges, this informative tool is an invaluable addition to disaster preparedness training.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

The Assignments to be Completed by the Learner

1. Familiarize yourself with the Emergency Management Mission area, including its essential capabilities that require client enforcement or comprehension.

2. Identify similar precedents in regards to possible scenarios and analyze how they were communicated or presented.

3. Assess the client's individual hazards and threats, and determine their potential impact on a given location.

4. Conduct comprehensive data collection, including examination of current conditions and historical events, and procurement of relevant photos and videos.

5. Create new visualizations that align with the learning objectives essential for the client's growth.

How will you support learners in completing the project?

RSC staff and partners will make it our priority to ensure learners fully comprehend the training objectives and understand the clients they're working for, including the types of media these clients typically consume. Additionally, we check in weekly to ensure learners understand the goals of various scenarios and visualizations, as well as their role in adding value to training exercises. With RSC's support, learners can feel assured and confident in their learning experience.

What skills or technologies will help learners to complete the project?

To excel in the program, the learner must possess a comprehensive skill set that includes a thorough understanding of present-day visual media and the ability to manipulate photographs realistically to depict a disaster. In addition, a good command of diverse communication mediums, such as social media, TV and radio, is vital to ensure that the training and exercises appear genuine and convincing.
