Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

We've rebranded and are looking to take our social media presence to the next level, to increase enrollment in our marketing workshops for business owners and entrepreneurs. To do this, we hope to improve our content strategy and create an optimal schedule for our social media posts to be uploaded.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Researching keywords to determine the most relevant terms that our customers search for.
  • Researching what competitors are doing effectively and using the data to inform this new content strategy
  • Constructing a content calendar to upload social media content for the maximum possible traffic over the next 6 months, with our scheduled workshop topics and dates in mind.
  • Creating social media content using the most efficient keywords for our target audience while following the content calendar.

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

  • Creating a social media template for each content pillar or post
What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities (this is basically a retelling of the steps above):

  • Compiled a list of the most relevant SEO keywords for us.
  • Researched competitors and report on how the information will be utilized in our content strategy
  • Created a content calendar to drive traffic to our workshop calendar.
  • Prepared a report outlining the SEO keywords and the social media calendar to be reviewed by the project manager.
  • Created engaging social media posts using the most efficient SEO keywords for the next 6 months.


Bonus steps would include:

  • Created social media templates for each content pillar or post for sustainability


Final deliverables should include

  • A report containing the most relevant SEO keywords for our company and a content calendar.
  • A social media content calendar for the next 6 months
  • Social media posts designs, including: graphic, captions, hashtags for Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, Pinterest to be uploaded as per the content calendar for 1 month.
  • Link to editable social media templates
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • The current content strategy being used on all social media platforms
  • The calendar for our scheduled workshops
  • Our brand persona, target audience and the message we want to get out there
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
What skills or technologies will help learners to complete the project?

In order to complete this project, students can self-teach, but it is beneficial to be familiar with:

  • Digital marketing.
  • Search engine optimization.
  • Social media marketing strategies and trends.

Nice to haves for students include

  • Experience in creating content for SEO.

Again, students can complete this project without any of the prior knowledge listed here. Students will be expected to research and learn more about this above as the project goes along.
