Learners in this program/experience are introduced to the concepts, theories and consequences of inequality and stratification both domestically and globally. The focus of the course will be on understanding the causes and outcomes of existing privilege, the recognition of intersectionality, and the analysis of stratification systems including those based status, the economy, race and ethnicity, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, and physical ability.
Mobile App Development (Kotlin/Android)

Learners will work on one main project over the second half of the of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Learners in this program/experience are sophomore and junior students in computer science (or computer engineering). The students will be learning Kotlin and Android Studio during the semester (and already know both C++ and Java and potentially some Python). The course's catalog description: "Introduction to mobile app development with a focus on Android platform for mobile phones and tablets. Topics include Android development environment (open source IDE Android Studio), emulator-android virtual device, basic building blocks, user interface design, menus and grids, fragments, data storage, styles and themes, tabs, threads, widgets, GPS coding, touch gestures, multimedia, networking and sensors, debugging and testing." I have uploaded images from previous year's final projects.

Learners are equipped with the skills to design effective language curricula and evaluate diverse assessment tools. By engaging in this experience, learners can apply their classroom knowledge to real-world projects, focusing on enhancing language instruction in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This collaboration aims to bridge academic learning with practical application, offering innovative solutions to language instruction challenges.

Learners in this program/experience will be creating a fully functional website integrating components of previous social media work (i.e., podcasts, YouTube videos, infographs). Focus will be on application of social media concepts and application, creating brand strategy with heavy reliance on social media as the foundation way of building and maintaining relationships.

Learners will work on one main project over the experience of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Learners in this program/experience are introduced to the study of how languages work, examining sounds, forms of words, sentence structure, meaning and usage, as well as providing a comprehensive view of human language ability. Learners will also explore syntax, meaning, context, language changes, sociolinguistics, and acquisition. The majority of learners are TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages) minors and are planning on utilizing tools learned in this class either in the classroom or with L2 speakers.
Accounting Information Systems Consultancy

This course presents an understanding of accounting information systems and their role in the accounting environment. It will focus on the nature and flows of accounting information in organizations, security, internal controls, the use of information technology in accounting information systems and decision-making. Topics to be covered include the software development life cycle, contemporary technology and applications (including the use of SAP), control concepts and procedures, auditing of information systems, internets, intranets, electronic commerce, and the role of information systems in a business enterprise. Students are able to: develop & implement an AIS design appropriate internal controls for an AIS use integrated accounting & enterprise software to complete transactions & analyze data create & evaluate data flow diagrams & document flowcharts to describe the flow of information in an AIS conduct a systems study of an AIS create a database & develop reports in Access
