What is the main goal for this project?

English AcadeMe Junior is an innovative 8-level movie-based English program designed for children, integrating advanced language learning technologies, cinematic magic, and 21st-century skills development. The program focuses on enhancing kids' English communicative competence through captivating movie content from major studios such as Disney, Disney Pixar, Fox, Sony, and Marvel. The program targets the four essential language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with a highly interactive and gamified approach, including avatars, badges, prizes, and more.


The main goal for the project is to design and create an AI Avatar that accomplanies children ages 6 to 12 through an English language course including moments for educational instruction, technical or navegational support and engaging feedback upon student answers.


What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:


- Design and development of AI Avatar's interactions throughout the platform

- Integration of the AI Avatar into the course

- Testing the functionality of AI Avatar within the interactive activities and exercises



Final deliverables:


- All design and code elements used to build and integrate the AI Avatar


How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:


  • Which types of interactions do we expect the AI Avatar to have with students?
  • What content should be included in the AI Avatar's response?
  • Access to staging and testing environments
  • Access to pilot classroom for testing
What skills or technologies will help learners to complete the project?

In order to complete this project, students can self-teach, but it is beneficial to be familiar with:


- Graphic design

- Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning

- Understanding of educational content and learning objectives.
