Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

Our company, CRY Creative, produces film/TV series, magazines, books, newsletters, and other creative assets. Right now, these creative assets all exist in their own world. We want to brand all of these assets under the single CRY umbrella.


Students will need to research our company history and current creative assets (we will provide the links).


By the end of this project, students will have contributed to the creation of a cohesive brand, strategized and executed a social media campaign in real time, and learned how to work under pressure situations when the stakes matter. They will acquire creative and communication skills that will prove valuable as they move on to other projects.


What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

Students will need to complete the following tasks:


  • Create a social media strategy to connect the CRY assets under one brand
  • Execute that strategy by creating posts and content that speak to our target audience
  • When we say creating posts, we mean sourcing, creating, and posting the content to our social media platforms (or a single social media platform).
  • Analyze the results of these posts and make decisions on how to optimize the strategy
How will you support learners in completing the project?

We will be there every step of the way with students. We will have weekly updates, hold space for daily conversations, and give students all of the resources and access they need to succeed.

What skills or technologies will help learners to complete the project?

Before we describe any skills that students will need to succeed, we want to start by saying this: we want students who are passionate about creativity, art (in any form), pop culture and social media. The passion is just as necessary as the skills we will describe.


That said, the following skills/capabilities will be helpful for students to succeed:


  • Understanding of different social media platforms and how they function
  • Writing skills
  • Video editing skills
  • Canva level design skills


To be clear, all of these skills are not necessary. They will certainly be helpful to fulfilling what we expect, but every student does not need to be proficient in all of these skills.
