Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

Notes:

  1. Students & Instructors are encouraged to read & review our AFAQs.
  2. Please review student incentives available, upon successful Project completion.

Scope:

[Least Time To Device Independence - LTTDI]

[Continuous Positive Airway Pressure - CPAP] (non-Invasive)

[Inspire - Surgically Inserted Device - SID] (invasive)

  1. Baselining to quantify patients's status to achieving LTTDI from published literature
  2. Extracting device* inputs & outputs by individual, day, & other user demographics
  3. Structuring device inputs & outputs by Individual, day, & other user demographics
  4. Modelling device inputs & outputs for LTTDI
  5. Finalizing device inputs optimization algorithm by validation with LTTDI
  6. Optimizing factors of device use, for sustainable sleep quality
  7. Predicting LTTDI for sustainable user sleep quality
  8. Leveraging** paper study to validate findings on available Medical Devices Options (Hardware)

*CPAP and Inspire*

**Is part of Phase 2, pending approval of IP of this Project conclusion.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

Tasks to be executed:

  1. Baseline to quantify patients's status to achieving LTTDI from published literature
  2. Extract device* inputs & outputs by individual, day, & other user demographics
  3. Structure device inputs & outputs by Individual, day, & other user demographics
  4. Model device inputs & outputs for LTTDI
  5. Finalize device inputs optimization algorithm by validation with LTTDI
  6. Optimize factors of device use, for sustainable sleep quality
  7. Predict LTTDI for sustainable user sleep quality
  8. Leverage paper study to validate findings on available Medical Devices Options (Hardware)
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Team members at MGBS as well as "C" level executive per need.

Team and MGBS Inc. will decide frequency of meeting, length of meetings, effectiveness of meetings and most importantly escalation protocol of any issues coming from either side on a proactive and a constructive basis. Goal is to reduce meeting frequency and time and focus on meetings to celebrate milestone completion and lessons learned.

Top contributing factor for success is ability to escalate and collaboratively resolve to success and operate harmoniously as a TEAM.

What skills or technologies will help learners to complete the project?
  1. Process Task Mapping using visuals related actions and decisions.
  2. Animation Software design and development to simulate gap and opportunity.
  3. Mobile and Web App design for Healthcare staff planning.
  4. MS Excel - Database, Project Task, Time Monitoring, Basic Applied Statistics Including Regression.
  5. Powerpoint (or equivalent, Canvas).
  6. Google Suite (Sheet, Document, Presentations).

All tools and techniques will be supported by IP to engage student teams toward a value added journey.

About the company

As a business process improvement coach & consultant I worked with several corporations in different continents over 31 years. After a successful 6-year work experience at General Electric Corporation, I founded my company in 2000, and have been fortunate to successfully deliver in a variety of industries such as manufacturing, technology, transactional as well as service type environments. Having published scientific & technical articles, including authoring 5 US patents I released my book on Lean Six Sigma in 2011. I converse reasonably in Dutch, and Spanish, the skills of which I acquired during my consulting times. To date, the total annualized direct customer benefits have accrued to several hundreds of millions of dollars across the globe in more than 20 years. I enjoy outdoor activities, and meeting people. I am thankful to my mentor (s), past employers, and my professional network members without which most achievements would have been impossible.
