The project's primary goal is to enhance the cybersecurity measures for Cameras For Girls, a small Canadian charity, to protect against potential cyber-attacks and data leaks. The project aims to ensure that the charity's data is secure and not vulnerable to cyber threats.
This will involve several different steps for the students, including:
- Conducting a comprehensive cybersecurity assessment of the charity's existing systems and processes.
- Implementing security measures such as encryption, firewalls, and access controls to safeguard sensitive data.
- Developing and implementing a cybersecurity policy and training program for the charity's staff to raise awareness and ensure best practices.
- Conducting penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential weaknesses in the charity's IT infrastructure.
- Establishing incident response and disaster recovery plans to mitigate the impact of any potential cyber-attacks.

Cameras For Girls pursues Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality in Africa using photography as our catalyst. We provide women who face gender-based barriers to employment with a camera to keep and a 4-phase photography, storytelling, and business-skills curriculum to support their goals of becoming paid journalists and photographers in male-dominated spaces.
