Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

The main objective of this medical research project is to assess and ensure the accuracy of research endeavors related to breast cancer and diabetes within the context of Afro medical research. The goal is to review and evaluate research projects conducted by students, with a focus on verifying the accuracy of the methodologies, data analysis, and overall findings.

Supporting the development of this project will involve:

  • Conduct background research to review the health content to ensure they are accurate and the sources are credible.
  • Provide feedback and recommendation to improve our health research content.
  • Add 30mins meeting with our admin team and our placement student to discuss the reviewed health contents.

  • Students would need to have a Medical background/ currently in medical school

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

To successfully achieve the goal of reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of Afro medical research projects focused on projects like breast cancer and diabetes, students will need to undertake a series of tasks and activities. These may include:

  • Identify gaps in current research and areas where inaccuracies or disparities may exist.
  • Ensure that the chosen projects align with the objectives of the Afro medical research review.
  • Verify that the data collection methods are culturally sensitive and inclusive.
  • Apply Social Determinants of Health lens to health content and provide recommendations as needed.
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will connect directly with the employer for mentorship and supervision throughout the project. Students will also have access to free health training and support through our weekly health data sub-team meeting
