Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

The Dinner Daily is seeking talented and creative UI/UX design students to conduct a comprehensive review and audit of our website and mobile application. Our mission is to make meal planning easier for busy families, and we believe that an intuitive and user-friendly interface is essential to achieving this goal.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

In this project, you will have the opportunity to evaluate and redesign the user experience of both our website and mobile app. The main objectives of this project are as follows:

1. UX Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Conduct a thorough assessment of the current user experience on our website and app.
  • Identify pain points, usability issues, and areas where user engagement can be improved.
  • Analyze user journeys to understand how users navigate through the platform.

2. UI Redesign:

  • Propose a fresh and modern UI design that aligns with our brand identity.
  • Create wireframes and mockups for key pages and app screens.
  • Focus on enhancing visual appeal, usability, and accessibility.

3. Functionality and Ease of Use:

  • Evaluate the functionality of our platform, including menu customization, grocery list generation, and account management.
  • Suggest improvements to streamline user tasks and make the platform more intuitive.

4. Leads to Conversion Process:

  • Analyze the current user journey from lead generation to conversion.
  • Suggest optimizations to increase conversion rates and user retention.
  • Provide recommendations for improving the onboarding process.

5. Accessibility and Responsiveness:

  • Ensure that the redesigned UI/UX is accessible to users with disabilities.
  • Verify responsiveness across various devices and screen sizes.

6. User Testing:

  • Conduct user testing sessions with real users to gather feedback on the proposed design changes.
  • Iterate on the design based on user feedback.

How will you support learners in completing the project?

We are dedicated to providing a supportive environment for learners throughout the UI/UX design project. While we recognize that this is a learning experience for students, our aim is to offer the resources and guidance needed for success. Here's how we will support learners:

  1. Access to Project Information: We will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of The Dinner Daily's mission, brand, and current platform functionalities. This will include access to relevant documentation, design assets, and user personas to ensure a clear understanding of our user base.
  2. Access to Existing Tools and Technology: Students will have access to our current website and mobile app, along with design tools and software necessary for the project. This access will enable students to assess the existing user experience and make design improvements effectively.
  3. Subject Matter Expertise: While I may not be a UI/UX designer, as the founder I have a deep understanding of The Dinner Daily's mission and user base. I will be readily available to provide insights into our target audience, business goals, and user pain points to help students make informed design decisions.

What skills or technologies will help learners to complete the project?
  • Solid understanding of UI/UX principles
  • Understanding of conversion strategies and best practice
  • Consumer facing experience a plus, especially for our target market of busy working families
  • Ability to conduct user research and testing.
  • Creativity and innovative thinking.
