Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

We want students to help us create content aligned with our vision, mission, and sector. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization.

We are looking for a group, team, or class with diverse backgrounds, one or more being Indigenous. We want an interactive workshop on Indigenous Parenting on turtle Island. Our goal is to offer a workshop that can assist parents in having their children returned to communities & homes. We would love to include different teachings from different tribes and clans that the parents can use in raising their children & various ideas from parenting in the western world. This way, they can raise their children in both worlds. We have lots of information to pass on; you can do your research or a combination of both. You can combine slide presentations, breakout rooms, videos, etc.

If you like the sound of our culture and are ready to tackle this challenge, we'd love to hear from you.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will:

  • Research what parenting looked like from our Indigenous Ancestors, how parenting is being done now, and what can be done moving forward in supporting the Indigenous people in parenting.
  • Evaluate recent successful user-generated campaigns, preferably in our sector
  • You will be working on creation for our organization, including videos, breakout rooms, and PowerPoint presentations that can be done chiefly virtually but can be adapted to in-person, as well as items we can use as go-to marketing tools.
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will work closely with the primary project manager, who supervises and is available for questions. This will also include occasional progress meetings where adjustments to the students' tasks and duties can be made if necessary.

I will set up a weekly meeting and be available if anything arises between those weeks.

At Kamamak Consulting, we provide informative workshops for individuals and organizations. Our workshops include Parenting in Both Worlds, Understanding Trauma, Self-Esteem, and Blanket Exercises. We aim to educate people about Canada's history, help parents regain custody of their children from the foster system, and aid in healing from Intergenerational Trauma. Additionally, we support Indigenous parents by providing them with valuable tools to return their children to their communities or homes.
We are helping to resolve some of the 94 calls to action.
