Team of 3 studentsWhat is the Strategic Issue or Opportunity (Project Overview)?:Note that projects must:(1) Encourage girls to be more involved in STEM related projects or studies. (2) Make a recommendation to the organization about what decision they should make and how that decision will add value(3) and provide the organization with an implementation plan to realize that value.Deliverables: What are your desired deliverables?a) Research data about girls taking STEM subjects in Edmonton, Alberta, and Canada to produce a comprehensive report.b) Research and document other community organizations utilizing STEM programs in Edmonton.c) Using data procured, develop program to motivate girls to join STEM subjects, ie PowerPoint, virtual or in person information sessions.
Social Media & SEO Strategy
Number of students required: 1-2 studentsOur team is looking for a social media marketing wizard who can help us drive more traffic and improve our SEO positioning. The primary project requirements include:Keyword analysis to determine relevant search terms to our organizationA strategy document to outline:Search Engine Optimization (SEO) requirements to ensure our organization appears on the first page of Google for relevant keywordsMaximize Google ads to advertise and drive traffic to our website.Social media requirements to increase the number of followers/likes and share:- Research how to use social media content to drive maximum traffic to our site - when are the best times to post, etc.- Determine what are the best social media applications to use to reach our key demographics.- Explore adding new methods of marketing - Tik Tok, videos', blogs, newsletters, etc.We’re excited to work with students who can help us not only brainstorm, but also execute a strategy to achieve:Reaching and engaging with our key demographic market through social media and marketing in the Edmonton and area.This is a great project for students to prove their digital marketing expertise to future employers, as the impact of their work on this project can be easily measured and communicated.

We are looking for assistance in finding and completing grant applications that support our mission and vision statement.We believe this project will include:Assist with finding donors and governments grants that share our mission and visionDevelop a needs statement that characterizes the community problem and justifies the need for our project and funding.Identify potential sponsors and funding opportunities that are a good fit for our organization, programs and projects.Interpret a request for proposal (RFP).Make a data base of all potential grantsImprove the clarity and persuasiveness of our organisation grant proposal writing.
Press Release
We want to be recognized in our community for the work that we are doing. We have a great story to tell and we want it to be picked up by media outlets. We need students to create press releases for us.Students should be prepared to:Help us make our story to something compelling and that people would be interested to readWrite up press releases around a couple of news-worthy storiesIdentify media outlets that are most most likely to pick the story upSend press releases and establish positive long term rapport with media contactsSecure media exposure for our organization and build a relationship.

We would like students to help us with creating content that is aligned with our vision, mission, and sector. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization. How to utilize SEOBest way to get interaction with public and how to be know on the internetUltimately, you will be working on content creation for our organization, including video, social media, and other collateral that we can use as go-to marketing tools.If you like the sound of our what we are doing for youth and low income families, and are ready to tackle this challenge with us, then we'd love to hear from you.

We would love to be recognised in the community and beyond our community in which we operate. We would like to encourage youths and inform them of our great program geared specially toward them. We have such great information and stories and would love them to be picked up by media outlets . We need students to create press release for us.Students should be prepared to:Help us refine our story to something news worthy.Write press releases about our programs and other news worthy stories.Help identify media outlets that are the most beneficial to us or most likely to pick up our story.Send press releases to these medias and establish rapport with them.Secure media exposure for our organisation.
