Performance Management Process Review

As our organization continues to grow and adopt new ways to track/target, it is important for us to stay up to date with our tools and processes for employee performance management. We have a desire to focus specifically on our performance evaluation tools and recently created skill planning program. We want to use this opportunity to have an assessment completed of our entire performance management processes and systems, to review the overall effectiveness and efficiency. Not only to ensure they're aligned with our company values and useful tools for our workforce, but also to provide us with recommendations for further improvement to drive employee's performance and participation. We use a number of performance management tracking and planning tools, plus the most recent creation of a skill-development program to enhance employee learning, and performance.

CSS Office Solutions employee skill training program

We want to focus on the development and training of our people. To assist us, we would like to collaborate with students to design training programs, specifically on-boarding training. The office furniture industry is a physically demanding one. It is imperative that new workers are trained on the safest ways to maneuver, lift, carry, transport the various pieces we are required to relocate for our clients. Any given day can have the team moving desks, tables, art work, filing cabinets, printers, computers, credenza’s, sofas, chairs, surfaces, overheads – anything that is in an office. The main goal is for the students to develop a fully functioning on-the-job training program using videos, pictures, and manuals.

Reduce Employee Turnover

Recently we have seen a decrease in the life cycle of our employees. Previously, individuals progressed through one or more roles within the organization over 2-5 years, and would continue on to higher ranking positions. We have a handful of staff employed for over 15+ years, and we'd like to experience that again. This has significantly decreased and we are unable to pinpoint what the exact reason for this might be. We have faced industry challenges and competitors battling for staff, and it would be great to have a better grasp on what is the cause and solution to match. With employee turnover at an all-time high, we are finding that this to be expensive for our organization from a hiring standpoint, but also from a cultural/moral standpoint.
