What is the main goal for this project?: The field of Property Management is complex, and it takes an extremely long time for an employee to gain the knowledge necessary to be comfortable enough to answer questions from tenants and owners.
Our company would like to explore designing a prototype for a native mobile application that our staff can use to assist them in answering property management questions.
This will involve:
Conduct background research of existing mobile Q&A-type applications to see if there are parallel products with an ideal UI that can be applied to this particular project
Taking a table of our Q&A and FAQs, and translate them into the mobile application
Design the application in such a way that training staff can add and expand the knowledge base at a later date.
Creation of a screen by screen UX / UI prototype of a native mobile application which can be used on both iOS and Android.
What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?: By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:
Familiarize themselves with existing products on the market
Familiarize themselves with a design tool of their choosing and understand how it work, or code the project from scratch, if justification can be made that is more efficient in the long term
Design and build inside of the design tool all the needed screens for a mobile application prototype of our product
Present a working, basic prototype with the context of all their choices they made, problems they encountered, and next steps they recommend.
Final deliverables should include:
The design screens and all assets in a shareable format
A presentation as stated above of the final designs

How will you support learners in completing the project?: Students will work directly with our Training Manager and Quality Assurance Department. There will be weekly check-in meetings, in addition to daily Zoom Q&A sessions.
What skills or technologies will help learners to complete the project?: In order to complete this project, students can self-teach, but it is beneficial to be familiar with:
Industry design tools
Human computer interaction concepts
UX / UI design experience
Nice to haves for students include
User testing strategies
Again, students can complete this project without any of the prior knowledge listed here. Students will be expected to research and learn more about this above as the project goes along.
