Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

The main goal for the project is to design a wearable corset that incorporates medical ultrasound technology for Nubienn, Inc. The corset should be comfortable for the wearer and allow for the effective use of ultrasound for medical purposes. The corset should also be aesthetically pleasing and easy to use.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

- Researching existing wearable medical ultrasound technology and products.

- Designing a prototype for the corset that incorporates the ultrasound technology.

- Testing the prototype for comfort, usability, and effectiveness of the ultrasound technology.

- Making improvements to the design based on testing results.

- Creating a final design and prototype for presentation to Nubienn, Inc.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:

- Research report on existing wearable medical ultrasound technology and products.

- Design sketches and prototype of the wearable corset incorporating ultrasound technology.

- Testing results and analysis of the prototype's comfort, usability, and effectiveness.

- Final design and prototype of the wearable corset.

Final deliverables:

  • Create an autocad design for corset in 9 sizes: 3 body types * 3 body sizes
  • Translate user requirements into Design Input Design Output Matrix
  • Bill of material (prices optional)
  • A presentation explaining the design process, testing results, and final design.

How will you support learners in completing the project?

We will provide lab space at Concordia, McGill, and ETS as well as access to any form of support to help you help us.
