What is the main goal for this project?

We are looking for assistance in finding and completing grant applications that support our mission and vision statement. The vision of S & S Foundation, Inc. as a 501c3 tax exempt organization is to provide temporary housing up to 18 months at reduced rent to qualified participants while receiving free financial coaching on how to save, budget and build credit score in order to qualify for a mortgage to purchase a home for the first time. This project will help eliminate homelessness, create more homeowners, provide financial education to sustain homeownership and build a resilient community.

We believe this project will include:

  • Assist with defining a company-identified community problem and defining the scope of a corresponding project.
  • Identify potential sponsors and funding opportunities that are a good fit for our organization and project.
  • Interpret a request for proposal (RFP).
What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?
  • Research, plan, write, edit, and revise a persuasive proposal narrative; or
  • Research into other grant opportunities to support our cause
  • Apply to grants on grants.gov and state grant opportunities for capital to build houses for the homeless and for financial coaching program
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will connect directly with the employer for mentorship and supervision throughout the project. Available via email and zoom for any assistance.
