- What is the main goal for this project?

Charity platform needed
The ideal website should be a community welfare platform which connects those who want to volunteer to those who need these services. The pattern is similar to Facebook Market place and Fiverr, except that no payment from Users/beneficiaries to the Volunteers or vice verse would be routed through this website. There are however three payment gateways, that are already built-in the website as follows
1) Program Registration Fees, currently at $15 per week registration or $40 for a month- 4-week programs.
2) Portal Membership payments, planned at $10 per month to be on the platform as community member, either seeking or offering help to each other.
3) Donations- Routed through Zeffy, wherein the donation receipt is issued then and there.
4) Stripe: Recently opened and connected the Strip account
This Project is a redesigning/fixing project of our current website. The ideal website should be able to support the following
1) The Platforms- Website
The platform mirrors ‘Facebook marketplace’ but for free products, services, skills and time; or mirrors “Fiverr” platform with zero cost services offered, wherein we match those who are offering help and support to those who are in need.
2) The Segments and the Programs
The website should be able to a) register the participants for our different programs and events, arrange the regular payments for these programs as registrations fees and b) Register these participants as volunteers on the website (point no. 1 above) as the basic requirements/ end goals of these programs.
3) The Fundraising and Other Events management
The Website should be able to support the complete event management, corporate sponsorship requirements for any events that we are looking for the year 2024 and beyond. For the year 2024, we are planning official launch- a mega event in June and then 3 more events during the year as fundraising events for the charity.

We have developed a website on ‘WordPress’ hosted at ‘blue Host’, by buying a theme on Hive Press Theme via Elementor and then building upon it. However, there are many custom coding requirements which could not be done by our website developer who had experience on building websites on word-press with no coding experience. Hence, there are many plug ins that were used to manage the website as it stands currently. We are looking for help with custom coding for these platforms (WordPress/blue host/ Hive Press- Elementor) who can not only look at few changes as one-time project and then also come on board as website management support for us going forward.
- What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:
- Understanding of website platform options
- Identification of the most suitable platform
- Development of a website using the most suitable tool
- Recommendations for website maintenance
Bonus steps would include:
- Testing the website with users and making improvements based on user input
Final deliverables should include
- A website prototype.
- A final report.

- Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
- What skills or technologies will help learners to complete the project?

In order to complete this project, students can self-teach, but it is beneficial to be familiar with:
- Website builders
- UI / UX design principles
- Word-press based websites,
- Theme Based websites, (Hive press)
- Elementor based websites
Again, students can complete this project without any of the prior knowledge listed here. Students will be expected to research and learn more about the above as the project goes along.
