This training program will qualify women as peer support workers. Menopeer support specialists (menopeers) use their lived experience of menopause plus their peer support skills to provide hope and empowerment. Menopeers offer a safe space to share the menopause journey, an understanding of another’s situation empathically through the shared experience, and emotional support during this life change. A menopeer uses her lived experience of menopause plus skills learned in formal training to deliver peer support for mind-body empowerment. I will be offering peer support services for women experiencing menopause. What this means is I will be using my own experience to provide emotional support, share knowledge, connect and help women better manage the menopause transition.
