Jean Baptiste Nyabyenda is a Montreal-based video journalist and filmmaker with expertise in scriptwriting, camera operation, editing, directing, and producing. In 2018, he arrived in Montreal to start a new life and pursued opportunities in media by looking for jobs or volunteering in media, but unfortunately did not get a chance. However, he did not let that stop him, and instead, he created an opportunity in media by starting FESTIBEC in 2020, which focused on creating black-based content for digital platforms. In January 2023, FESTIBEC Afro-Black Web TV was officially approved as a not-for-profit media organization incorporated with the Quebec Government. Jean has worked with various international TV stations such as Rwanda local online TV, ZoominTV, AJ+, Canal+, Plive, and The Points Guy and Voice of America. He has been passionate about film, photography and cinema since 2012.
