Visual Storytelling for Change: Help Design Equity Research Tools

Peak Experiences Ltd. (PeakXP) is developing a set of visual mindset cards to support ethical, empathic, and equity-centred research training for students, educators, and non-profit practitioners working in community-based settings. Each card will feature a guiding mindset, such as " Attend to Healing," " Be with the Unknown ," or " Practice Creative Courage ," paired with a short written reflection or explainer. As the designer, you will be invited to create 8 to 16 original visual assets that reflect and represent these mindsets. You may work in illustration, photography, iconography, or another visual medium that suits your style. The final images will be used on printable, postcard-sized cards and shared through a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike licensed toolkit for training, academic publications, and public education. This project is ideal for a creative student interested in visual storytelling, social change, and building a meaningful portfolio. You do not need to be a professional or experienced artist. We welcome emerging creatives with a strong sense of visual expression and a desire to contribute. When applying, please include a link or sample of something you have created that gives us a feel for your creative style.

New Website UI / UX Design & Prototype

About Peak Experiences Ltd. Peak Experiences Ltd. is a Canadian experiential education company founded in 2017. While traditionally focused on in-person learning experiences, I am now exploring building digital tools that support my community of impact-focused educators, non-profits, arts organizations, and researchers globally. Project Background and Need Through conversations with other educators and researchers, I have identified a gap in the market for collaborative, reflective storytelling tools after FlipGrid was discontinued. Many educators and qualitative researchers need a privacy-conscious, asynchronous platform for collecting and analyzing participant narratives through video, voice, and text-based responses. This project will explore the design of a mobile-friendly website prototype that allows: Asynchronous collection of narratives via multimedia submissions. A “tapestry” of insights , where participants can view and respond to others’ reflections. Privacy-conscious design , ensuring ethical handling of participant data. An accessible and user-friendly interface for a diverse user base This will involve: Conducting UX research & competitive analysis (e.g. FlipGrid, MirrorTalk). Holding a discovery meeting to refine project goals and requirements. Interviewing potential users (students, educators, researchers, or evaluators) to gather insights. Developing wireframes and prototypes to demonstrate key platform features. Presenting a final prototype with research-backed design recommendations.
