Chrisoda is a product from Manning Canning, founded by husband and wife team Christine Manning and James Houston, Toronto makers of jams, jellies and pickles. We were always experimenting with fruits, vegetables and vinegars in various forms and looking for non-alcolholic, lower sugar, better-for-you, beverage options. So Christine started making a version of shrub with fruit juices and vinegars. It was so popular at shows and markets that customers asked for a ready to drink version, and Chrisoda was born!

Website Development
Manning Canning is a multifaceted business with a growing online presence. Our current Squarespace website houses three distinct lines of business under one roof: artisanal preserves, commercial kitchen rentals, and co-packing services. To better serve our audiences and clarify our offerings, we are looking to redesign and restructure our web presence by creating three separate, user-friendly websites—one for each line of business. We are seeking to collaborate with students to help bring this digital transformation to life. The objective is to build three cohesive, easy-to-manage websites with clean interfaces, strong branding, and clear pathways for customer engagement. These sites may be built using Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, WordPress, or another recommended platform. Key project steps may include: Researching and comparing site-building platforms, with pros and cons for each. Conducting a needs assessment for each business line to determine the ideal platform and structure. Building and launching three distinct websites: Manning Canning Preserves (consumer product focus) Manning Canning Kitchens (commercial kitchen rental) Manning Canning Co-Packing (B2B services) Assisting with content integration and design layout based on our existing brand materials. Providing training and documentation for ongoing site maintenance and updates. Optional enhancements could include: Prototyping and user testing with our customer base. Iterative improvements based on feedback and analytics. We’re excited about the opportunity to work with students who are eager to apply their skills in a real-world business setting and help us evolve our digital strategy.
