Strategic communications for California animal charity

In Defense of Animals works regionally, nationally and internationally from California to fight for animals, people, and the environment. We send an average of two media releases per week. We are looking for advice on how to improve our communications strategy, especially to reach higher profile media outlets with more "landmark" coverage.

Website Testing

In Defense of Animals is a medium size nonprofit based in the San Francisco bay area looking for one remote based UX Designer for a four week project. What will you do? website redesign new feature research, testing, and design mockups wireframe creation UI/UX design audits persona development and journey mapping information architecture and user flows for improved usability Participation: A representative of the charity will be available for a weekly check in meeting during the collaboration, and reasonably responsive to unblock the design team as needed. A representative of the charity will be available for a pre-selection discussion with the administrator of the course to review the project scope. Designers will be able to show and discuss their work in job search materials. Redactions of specific confidential information are permitted.

Customer Journey Mapping

Our organization has 250,000 supporters. We are trying to improve our understanding of user experiences, interpret existing collected data to draw conclusions, perhaps to improve our subject lines, model our supporters, and design tests that will help us learn more. This will involve several different steps, including: Conducting background research on supporter journey mapping, our campaigns, and supporters. Analyzing supporter database Defining the phases and touchpoints of the supporter funnel. Mapping supporter journey stages, incorporating user actions, emotions, goals, and pain points Proposing solutions to minimize pain points and meet supporter needs Segment our supporters based on their demographics, behavior, preferences, and interests Identify new opportunities and trends by spotting patterns and gaps in our existing strategy Analyze and visualize the data Bonus project: Developing multiple supporter journey maps to account for different experiences and paths.

Research and Journalistic Writing

Our organization is passionate about promoting social causes. We ​​want to increase awareness about a particular topic. We would like to collaborate with students to develop and distribute a newsletter promoting our cause. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Conducting background research on the cause. Adhering to deadlines. Creating written materials to be published using existing content. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Recommending other ways to increase awareness about our cause.
