Our organization has 250,000 supporters. We are trying to improve our understanding of user experiences, interpret existing collected data to draw conclusions, perhaps to improve our subject lines, model our supporters, and design tests that will help us learn more.

This will involve several different steps, including:

  • Conducting background research on supporter journey mapping, our campaigns, and supporters.
  • Analyzing supporter database
  • Defining the phases and touchpoints of the supporter funnel.
  • Mapping supporter journey stages, incorporating user actions, emotions, goals, and pain points
  • Proposing solutions to minimize pain points and meet supporter needs
  • Segment our supporters based on their demographics, behavior, preferences, and interests
  • Identify new opportunities and trends by spotting patterns and gaps in our existing strategy
  • Analyze and visualize the data

Bonus project:

  • Developing multiple supporter journey maps to account for different experiences and paths.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Understanding of our organization and the importance of customer journey mapping
  • Analysis and understanding of supporter experiences
  • Understanding of the supporter journey and how the supporter interacts with our organization in different phases
  • Recommendations for improving supporter experience

Bonus steps would include:

  • Mapping multiple supporter journeys

Final deliverables should include

  • A final report.
  • A 10-minute presentation.
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Our work and campaigns
  • Our current understanding of our target market
  • More specific information on the project and goals
  • Help to manipulate the data
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the student might encounter
