infographics educational materialsThe Pono Pono Peace Initiative seeks to create an educational video series that mythbusts and teaches the concept of consent in relationships using financial transactions as an analogy. The project aims to address common misconceptions about consent by drawing parallels with financial decisions, such as stock purchases and deal approvals. By using relatable financial scenarios, the videos will help learners understand the importance of explicit consent and the fallacy of assuming consent based on past actions or perceived benefits. The project will involve developing scripts and producing short, engaging videos that effectively communicate these concepts. The goal is to provide a clear, educational resource that can be used in various educational settings to promote healthy relationship dynamics.
The project will deliver a series of 3-5 short educational videos, each focusing on a different aspect of consent using financial analogies. The deliverables include well-researched and clearly written scripts, professionally edited video content, and accompanying educational materials such as discussion guides or infographics. These resources will be designed to facilitate classroom discussions and enhance understanding of consent in relationships.

Our name comes from the Hawaiian word 'Pono' which means balance and righteousness. In Hawaiian when you put two words beside each other, their meaning is deepened or emphasized. Thus 'Pono Pono' extends Pono to a deeper level and reminds us that to have Pono Pono peace it is not enough to avoid conflict or do right; we need to do more to create peace! It is not enough to remove the weeds; we must plant the flowers and food of peace.
Pono Pono is a call to be a positive influence in the world wherever we are.
