Why This Project Matters
Chambers of Commerce play an essential role in advocating for businesses, fostering economic development, and building strong communities. However, many Chambers face challenges in attracting new members, which can limit their ability to effectively support local businesses. By leveraging the creativity and skills of your student teams, this project will help the Chamber reach existing and new target audiences effectively, promote membership recruitment, and provide students with real-world marketing experience.
Providing specialized, in-depth knowledge and general industry insights for a comprehensive understanding.
Providing access to necessary tools, software, and resources required for project completion.
Scheduled check-ins to discuss progress, address challenges, and provide feedback.
About the company
The Stoney Creek Chamber of Commerce first formed in 1949 and began as a group of businesses, professionals, and other interested people who organized to work together to improve business and build a better community. In 1960, the Chamber enlarged to include the Township of Saltfleet and changed its name to the Stoney Creek and Saltfleet Chamber of Commerce.
In 1984 the Township of Stoney Creek became the City of Stoney Creek, amalgamating Saltfleet into the new city, and the Chamber reverted back to its original name Stoney Creek Chamber of Commerce.
On January 1, 2001, the new city of Hamilton was formed from the amalgamation of Hamilton and its five neighbouring municipalities: Ancaster, Dundas, Flamborough, Glanbrook, and Stoney Creek.
Despite this amalgamation the Stoney Creek Chamber of Commerce continues to operate as independent organizations.
