Project Description:

This project aims to create a comprehensive strategy for inclusive recruitment and onboarding of individuals with disabilities in Canada. The student team will research national and provincial legislation, identify best practices, and recommend improvements to current hiring systems. The final output will support organizations in building equitable, accessible, and compliant HR frameworks aligned with Canadian employment law and inclusion mandates.


Key Scope and Deliverables:


  1. Review federal and provincial legislation (e.g., Accessible Canada Act, AODA).
  2. Analyze inclusive hiring mandates, employer obligations, and tax incentives.
  3. Evaluate workplace accommodation policies and trends.
  4. Benchmark inclusive hiring practices from leading Canadian employers.
  5. Identify common barriers in job descriptions, interviews, and onboarding.
  6. Review tools for accessible screening and applicant tracking systems.
  7. Propose a compliant and inclusive recruitment framework.
  8. Create guidelines for training HR staff on disability inclusion.
  9. Draft accessible onboarding policy templates and interview rubrics.
  10. Provide a summary report with legal references, case examples, and recommendations.


Deliverables

The project will deliver a comprehensive market entry strategy document that includes competitive analysis, legal compliance guidelines, and a scalable business model. Additionally, a presentation summarizing key findings and recommendations will be prepared. Learners will also create a technology trends report, highlighting relevant applications for the hiring platform. These deliverables will provide Enabled Talent with actionable insights and a clear roadmap for entering the U.S. and Canadian markets.
