event marketing tiktok social media campaigns social media digital communicationsThe goal of this project is to boost awareness, anticipation, and attendance for the 2025 Toronto Garlic Festival, taking place on Sunday, September 28. The festival is a not-for-profit celebration of Ontario garlic, featuring 70+ vendors, chefs, performers, and cultural speakers. The social media rep will manage the festival’s Instagram, Facebook, Twitter (X), and TikTok accounts—with a focus on Instagram and Facebook—and help build our new TikTok presence. A key objective is to highlight every festival vendor, speaker, and performer through original content. The position is also intended as a professional opportunity for a student or recent graduate in social media, digital communications, or event marketing, ideally from a local college.
The social media representative will create 80–100 original posts and/or collaborations across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok. This includes content for each vendor, speaker, and performer, as well as for sponsors and partners. They will also run 2–3 contests, including a collaboration with BlogTO. Content types will include posts, Stories, Reels, and TikToks. The rep will help grow engagement—especially on TikTok—and maintain a consistent festival voice and visual style. The role is paid (Cdn $1,800 flat fee), runs from now until September 28, 2025, and includes creative input from the festival team, with flexibility for the rep to bring their own creative ideas.
