What is the main goal for this project?

We are a successful eLearning company in the project management exam prep space.


We want to expand our product offering with a new brand (Brain Sensei Digital) and product: A Bootstrapped Digital Small Business Start-up Program. This product will be a self-paced guide to starting your own digital business from the ground up, leveraging the experience of the co-founders in building their successful eLearning company. The material will cover everything from coming up with a business idea to the details of how to run paid ads. The target market is those looking to leave the 9-5 grind to become their own boss. Geographic target is worldwide, English speakers. The product has been built, but not launched.


We need insights to help with the ramp-up to commercialization and the best approach to go to market successfully with our new product. Initial questions to brainstorm include, but are not limited to:

1. Who are our closest competitors and how do we differentiate ourselves?

2. Where is the best place to reach our target market?

3. How do we establish our brand: Build awareness, acquire customers, and defend any early success?

4. With whom should we partner on social media or from an affiliate partner perspective?

We are looking to gain alternative perspectives on potential marketing tactics and better understand the current competitive market.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

Tasks

  • Competitive research
  • Build a product launch plan based on leveraging approach by successful competitors
  • Create a digital marketing plan for initial launch (budget of $50k)


One or both of the company co-founders will be at your disposal for a maximum of 1 hour per week.


The final deliverables should take the form of:

  • A product launch plan, including timelines and cost estimates (including marketing plan for initial launch)
  • A final presentation
How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will connect directly with the employer for mentorship and supervision throughout the project.


At least one of the co-founders will be available for up to 1 hour/ week for meetings/consultation.
