- What is the main goal for this project?

Wide pay gaps exist between male and female physicians. Although the scope of gender equity among District physicians is unknown, a study in neighboring Maryland pointed to a significant pay gap with female physicians in Maryland earning 50% less on average than males. MSDC, which represents the 10,000+ licensed physicians in the District of Columbia, aims to survey the DC physician workforce in Fall 2023 to evaluate gender parity in the District of Columbia.
