ME-487 and ME 4888 are a two-course sequence in Engineering Design, students will establish important features of the machine, system, or process to be designed, perform market analysis, establish design objectives, explore alternatives, conduct research, specify constraints.The course provides a student experience equivalent to an entry level engineering job. Students will manage and complete a design project. This serves as a transition between what is learned in college and “real life” engineering.
Structural Design and Dynamics Project

Our UND students are from a comprehensive design course which integrates engineering design and engineering science components of previous and ongoing coursework into a major design experience. Students will work on design projects related to structural engineering and structural dynamics. Structures such as buildings, dams, chimneys, bridges, etc. to withstand variety of load cases including earthquake and highspeed wind.
Leadership in Education - Theory to Practice

In this project, students will conduct research and develop an actionable strategy and make recommendations to solve a leadership challenge faced by your organization, stakeholders, and/or clients.The students in this course are Master's level Educational Leadership students, bound for roles as school principals. These students have experience as teachers, and all students go through a background check before being enrolled in this course.

Indigenous Evaluation Frameworks class. Bring in doctoral students from the University of North Dakota’s Public Health Program. Students’ knowledge covers various Public Health areas, with community understanding at the local, state and tribal levels. Special curriculum emphasis on indigenous populations. Students will help assist in various roles within your organization pertaining to development of an evaluation plan throughout the academic semester from September 2021 to December 2021. Potential partners can be connected to students sooner depending on student availability and interest. This can also be extended per agreement with student and UND. The opportunity for collaboration is available to any agency or organization that provides a public health focused experience.

Applied Practice Experience in Public Health. Bring on one or more students from The University of North Dakota in the Public Health to be your virtual interns, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Students are available for a minimum of 135 hours of placement from May 2021 to August 2021, and can be extended per agreement with student and UND. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, student placements will only occur virtually.The practicum is conducted in partnership with an agency or organization that provides a public health service, in the broad sense of public health. The organization may be a public health department, another government agency, such as the Indian Health Service, or a non-governmental organization, such as a hospital, other health care provider, or a community organization.

Upon completion of the project, you will receive a detailed report and presentation.

Students can develop predictive models for any data seRs. Particularly energy related data is a preference although other data sets are also welcome for developing optimal and sub optimal solution.
Criminal Justice Studies Internship - Spring 2022
In order to qualify as an appropriate placement for a student, the industry partner must be able to outline the duties/project for which the student is responsible. Such duties should include components of decision making and responsibility for specific tasks and should have direct relevance to the principal purposes of the organization. Mere opportunity to observe the activities of the agency, although having value, does not qualify as an appropriate internship experience.
