Students in this program are able to examine addictive substances as a global commodity, tracing their impact on issues of race, empire and inequality. While studying the opium warms of the 19th century into the narco violence in present-day Mexico, students have a better understanding of the various impacts of the drug trade on the modern world. Students will have knowledge around issues of criminality and policing, how transnational flows of licit and illicit drugs shape how societies interact with each other and reveal persistent power imbalances. Students will be able to speak to the wide demographic of individuals who impact the global drug trade, including: imperial administrators, Colombian drug lords, CIA agents, Central American villagers, mafia dons and pharmaceutical sales reps.

Our students from Fanshawe College have gained an understanding of the relationships between management, union, the government, the public and other stakeholders. In addition to examining union recognition, collective agreements, along with their content and creation, students have explored key ethical principles and the various ways in which business professionals and ethical theorists address issues that commonly arise in the business world. Students will be able to apply this at your organization by developing strategies to contribute to organizational effectiveness through good employee and labour relations. Upon completion of the project, you will receive a detailed report and presentation.

Students from Fanshawe College in the Human Resources Diploma program explore ethical theories from a multi-stakeholder approach and apply ethical reasoning to an issue facing your organization. Students have a deep understanding of the relationship between business and society, theoretical bases for ethical decision making, ethical capitalism and relativism, regulating business, stakeholder relations and marketplace ethics. They will analyze select readings and case studies to explore key ethical principles and the various ways in which business professionals and ethical theorists address issues that commonly arise in the business world. Virtual Project Opportunity:Bring on one or more student/(s) from Fanshawe College in the Office Administration - Executive (OAE) Co-op Endorsed Diploma to conduct a program-related project-based experience. The two year OAE Diploma program is designed to offer the widest range of possible career choices and opportunities in a variety of office support disciplines. These students are equipped to work in diverse team settings, assist with projects and support, and contribute to business solutions.Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the summer term connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.Students are available to engage in an employer-lead project from May 2 through August 19. Students can start as late as May 23, 2022.Full-time hours or slightly less are required and will be dependent on project scope and student availability.Student co-ops can occur in-person, virtually or hybrid and will count towards a co-op credit.

Students in the Fire Inspection and Fire Safety Education program have a foundation in fire science and fire mathematics, who study a comprehensive range of relevant codes and legislation, such as the Ontario Fire Code, Fire Protection and Prevention Act, the Ontario Building Code and the Building Code Act.Students are looking for mentorship opportunities to expose them to a variety of fire service environments. Students in this program require 80 hours of mentorship to complete their requirements to graduate from the program.Due to current COVID restrictions, students will complete these placements virtually.Students can start placements as early as February 1st, 2021.

This fall, Fanshawe College’s Advanced Ergonomic Studies (AES) 2021/2022 cohort of students will be challenged to learn, work and study in incredibly unique and innovative ways. To keep our students safe yet engaged, we (their professors) are looking to provide them with meaningful “remote” experiences that will help build their ergonomics research and analytical skills. Therefore, we are looking to industry to help us bring ergonomics research projects from organizations into the virtual classroom.We would like to invite you and your organization to participate in this fall’s Research Methods and Statistics (RMS) class by allowing a small group of our AES students to conduct an online ergonomics survey with your company. Students will be tasked to work remotely with your organization, under the guidance AES’s faculty members Karen Hoodless (Professor of RMS) and Allison Stephens (AES’s Program Coordinator and Professor).

Converting solar and wind power into a storable energy form for utilization when the sun is not shining; when the wind is not blowing are challenges facing the industry and the fight against climate change. There is an opportunity for a company partner to access students from Fanshawe College's Alternative Energy Generation Methods course to perform projects on energy storage from renewables, i.e. solar or wind power converted to pumped hydroelectric, hydrogen, compressed air.

This program is accredited by the Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council.Graduates are also eligible for advanced standing towards a Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCMP) designation through Supply Chain Canada.

As a mandatory part of this course, students are required to select and assist a not-for-profit, community organization. The purpose of this component of the course is to stress the importance of giving back to the community. In the current business climate, this is becoming an increasing expectation of an “ethical” company. Providing the students with the opportunity to volunteer at your organization, you will be helping the students realize that taking part in the community and helping out is “good” for business in terms of advertising and networking opportunities. The main objective for the students is the importance of giving back to the community whether they own their own business, work for someone else, or are preparing their resume to look for a job.Each student will be selecting his or her own virtual project from interested partners and some students may decided, even in light of the current CovID situation, to choose a non-virtual option.
