Virtual Internship – Computer Science
MEMOTEXT is able to offer a virtual internship opportunity for 1 computer science student from September 2020 to December 2020. The virtual intern student will work in an interdisciplinary manner with the data science, business development, and engineering teams to expand MEMOTEXT program patient experience and engagement through different modalities (IVR, SMS, Alexa, web, apps, etc.). In addition to supporting the development team, the student will have the opportunity to develop new strategies for patient engagement in digital health and publish as well as present their findings in (including but not limited to: a white paper, scientific article, blogs, conference talk, webinars). The student will be able to have real impact on the product offerings and on shaping the future state of digital health in Canada. The primary focus for the student will be: Application Development Support – Provide assistance to developers during application feature creation, updates, and maintenance. Would require knowledge/experience in working in PHP in Laravel development environment, as well as experience in HTML5, JavaScript ES5. Also need to be familiar with CSS3, SCSS and jQuery. Database Analysis & Documentation – Support database admin in documentation of database schemas, stored procedures and overall database layout. Would need to be proficient in Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL. Application Programming Interfaces – Support design and development of existing API to simplify it, designing a new API, and creating or updating public-facing documentation. Our goal at the end of this experience is: Application Development Support - For the student to gain experience in creating a fully functioning application by helping us design, develop, and maintain current and new features/applications. Database Analysis & Documentation - For the student to help us improve our data processes and documentation. Application Programming Interfaces - For the student to help us redesign, develop, and document existing and new APIs. Other student responsibilities can include: To contribute to and support the overall design of our architecture to ensure optimal performance and sustainability Software vendor research and evaluation Assisting with other process improvement projects Unit and integration testing Responding to IT/Service Desk requests We will plan to communicate with our virtual intern(s) using these communication tools: email, slack, Jira, Microsoft Teams
Virtual Internship – Project Management
MEMOTEXT is able to offer a virtual internship opportunity for 1 project manager from September 2020 to December 2020. The virtual intern student will work in an interdisciplinary manner with the data science, business development, and engineering teams to expand MEMOTEXT program patient experience and engagement through different modalities (IVR, SMS, Alexa, web, apps, etc). In addition to project management, the student will have the opportunity to develop new strategies for patient engagement in digital health and publish as well as present their findings in (including but not limited to: a white paper, scientific article, blogs, conference talk, webinars). The student will be able to have real impact on the product offerings and on shaping the future state of digital health in Canada. The primary responsibilities for the student will be: Project Planning – Support development of project plans and/or action plans including SOW creation, timeline development, and breakdown of client requirements into user stories. Would require knowledge of Jira software to manage project components. Documentation – Ensure appropriate documentation for each project is written/collected, including program features, technical specifications, etc. Quality Assurance – Support unit/integration/system testing of features and applications to ensure delivery of high quality of products. Process Optimization – Identify process improvements or redesign processes and help develop improvements to be more responsive to changes in demand. Our goal at the end of this experience is: Project Planning – For the student to help current project managers with their workload and to develop skills and experience in delivering digital health programs/products. Documentation – For the student to help maintain critical documentation for each project and ensure documentation is all up to date. Quality Assurance – For the student to help us improve and further expand our QA capabilities. Process Optimization – For the student to help us improve our internal processes. Other student responsibilities can include: Support and collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop user-centered programs across all phases - including recruitment, onboarding, and program delivery. Help in preparing functional documentation. Create compelling PowerPoint slides and visualizations of data. Identify opportunities to streamline and automate business processes. Keep abreast of digital therapeutic and mHealth trends and application with focus on Machine Learning. Resolution of problems and roadblocks in project development and identifies trends to determine system improvements and implement change. We will plan to communicate with our virtual intern(s) using these communication tools: email, slack, Jira, Microsoft Teams
Virtual Internship – Marketing & Sales
MEMOTEXT is able to offer a virtual internship opportunity for 1 marketing student from September 2020 to December 2020. The virtual intern student will work in an interdisciplinary manner with the data science, business development, and engineering teams to expand MEMOTEXT program patient experience and engagement through different modalities (IVR, SMS, Alexa, web, apps, etc). In addition to developing marketing campaigns, the student will have the opportunity to develop new strategies for patient engagement in digital health and publish as well as present their findings in (including but not limited to: a white paper, scientific article, blogs, conference talk, webinars). The student will be able to have real impact on the product offerings and on shaping the future state of digital health in Canada. The primary responsibilities for the student will be: Marketing Communications - Develop and execute marketing campaigns via email and social media. Write blogs, e-marketing messages, etc. as needed as well as create additional collateral, including press releases, user testimonials, case studies, and customer stories. Sales Support – Reach out to potential clients and introduce MEMOTEXT products/programs, gather basic customer requirements, and facilitate follow-up discussions with CEO and other team members. Strategic Social Media Marketing - Conduct an audit of our current social media presence and/or other current communication channel(s); develop and implement strategies for improving our online presence and increasing engagement; create a content calendar; creating usable social media and blog posts. Market Research - Investigate our competitive landscape; perform market segmentation to identify the ideal target market for (new or existing product or service); conduct customer surveys or focus groups to gain insights into the perceptions and behaviours of our target customers; develop a pricing strategy; identify expansion opportunities; identify key messaging for (new product or service). Our goal at the end of this experience is: Marketing Communications – For the student to help us improve our brand's presence and capture greater market share. Sales Support – For the student to further optimize our sales pipeline and implement better prospecting that increases conversion rates and boost our sales performance in both our current space as well as potential opportunities in adjacent verticals. Strategic Social Media Marketing – For the student to help us improve our online presence, reach more customers, and effectively promote our brand through compelling content. Regularly research best practices in social media to present to the marketing team Market Research - For the student to help us gain a better understanding of our target market and ensure we are optimally positioned, and our product and pricing aligns with our target sector/customer. Other student responsibilities can include: Assist with outbound email marketing campaigns using tools such as ZenDesk, MailChimp, Excel, etc. Support and collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop user-centered programs across all phases - including recruitment, onboarding, and program delivery Help in preparing functional documentation Create compelling PowerPoint slides and visualizations of data Identify opportunities to streamline and automate business processes We will plan to communicate with our virtual intern(s) using these communication tools: email, slack, Jira, Microsoft Teams.
