Film Review and Festival Curation

Positions available: 4Our organization needs some help reviewing and rating film submissions to our film festival! Every year, we collect short films from youth filmmakers around the world, and create a festival collection that highlights diverse voices, unique stories, and the best work from emerging filmmakers. This position would involve filtering submissions to ensure that they meet our criteria, watching films, and rating them based on our selection guidelines. This is a remote position and would require access to a computer and internet.This project will require:A critical eye for qualities that make a strong film (not just production value)An understanding of our festival and the types of films we want to highlightSelf-discipline and time management skillsUse of your home computer and internet to access FilmFreewayWe will give you access to FilmFreeway, as well as personnel, training, and supervision. We hope to work with two project interns, for 10-20 hours per week for a total of 80 hours.

The intern will gain real world experience on projects and utilize considerable independent judgment to design, analyze, and support project proposals and deliverables.The ideal candidate has excellent project management, research, writing, and time management skills and is highly organized and self-motivated. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Economics, Liberal Arts, Nonprofit Management, or related field and Master's level candidates preferred.

Students should be prepared to:Launch 10 town pages in WordPress based on our template Build pages, with our assistance in providing digital contentTest launched pagesThe 1000 Towns team will provide training.

We would like to update our website for our organization.We would like to work with students to develop new pages for us from our already existing website. Students should be prepared to:Conduct a needs analysis to determine which platform is most suitable.Create a design proposal including wireframes or low-fidelity mockups for our company's review.Build a fully-functioning website, with our assistance in providing content and copy.Provide training on updating and maintaining the site.
