I have enjoyed a varied career in the education sector spanning over 25 years, mostly in business-facing roles. Currently I lead a small team based at Nottingham Business School, which is part of Nottingham Trent University, who work to support our academic colleagues, and agree short real-life consultancy challenges for our postgraduate students to work on.
I live in Nottingham and in my spare time enjoy photography, which I combine with a love of hiking the hills and peaks of nearby Derbyshire. If you need a recommendation for a good pub-walk, look no further! - Portals

Change Management - MBA student project
Does your organisation seek to change? Do you find yourself in ‘Position A’ and aspire instead to be in ‘Position B’? Perhaps you want your organisation to be more innovative in decision making, or more environmentally sustainable ? Perhaps you want to introduce new technologies , change some aspect of your organisation’s culture , or way of doing business? If you are contemplating any of these changes, or have another in mind, our MBA student ‘consultants’ can help. The Change Management module at Nottingham Business School has taken place (under sometimes different names and in slightly different guises) for several years. Students able to apply change tools with a participating business as part of a ‘real-life’ brief can achieve high grades and have found it an enjoyable experience. At the same time the business taking part can gain fresh thinking from an enthusiastic team. Our students recognise that knowledge of ‘How’ to effect successful change in an organisation is essential for today’s businesses and business leaders. This module gives them the opportunity to consider the ‘How?’ of organisational change, rather than the ‘What?’ or the ‘Why?’

Financial Strategy
Are you looking for some fresh thinking for your business? Bring on students from Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University to be your student-consultants, in a project-based experience. A team of around 5-6 students will work on one challenge over the course of the project, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Students undertaking these projects will apply their learning about financial reporting and analysis as an aid to decision making, current issues in the ethics and sustainability, and analytical techniques and theoretical bases (e.g. cost analysis, such as efficiency saving; models for calculating cost per product, e.g. quantifying costs; balance scorecard etc.). Please note: If you are interested in this project contact between Nottingham Business School and your organisation will take place outside of the Riipen platform. Likewise, the student project will take place off-platform. This format has been agreed with Riipen in advance.
