Are you a skilled animator looking for a fun and rewarding project to put on your portfolio? My name is Colin Dunbar, and I am looking for someone to help animate a book trailer to showcase my series Nine Bodies in a Puddle. This is the perfect opportunity to get some experience with producing animated content and a great chance to make your portfolio shine. The project will consist of eight scenes and should build up to a 1-3 minute animated short. While we provide the concept, you will entirely lead this project, and have a good amount of creative control over the animation! This project is intended for students who have already completed an Animated Book Trailer internship with us and are looking to further refine/develop their animated project.

Create Concept Art for an Animated Short Film

Hello! My name is Colin Dunbar. I am the author of seven books, including Nine Bodies in a Puddle, The Creator's Almanac, and The Era of the Orb. I am looking for someone to help produce concept art for a short film that is very early in development. This project includes producing eight complex illustrations (including 1 or more characters and a background in full colour) and 3 character reference sheets. We will provide detailed descriptions of what should be included in these pieces of concept art. We will also provide examples of what a character reference sheet should look like. You will work directly with the author writing the film. We will provide feedback on sketches and on the completed illustrations. This film tells an absurdist-fantasy story. Illustrations include a giant with a mirror for a head, a train hovering across an expansive desert without tracks, people staring at distorted reflections, and more! You will receive 2-3 prompts at a time, and receive more as you progress through the project. These concept art illustrations are perfect to put in a digital art portfolio!

Book Cover Design (4x Book Covers)

This project involves designing four book covers similar in style to the pictures attached to this project. Throughout the project, you will create four book covers. These covers will have to fit within specific dimensions, and formatting guides required for book publishing. We will help you understand the formatting guidelines required to make a book cover, and the specific guidelines that publishers have. We will provide a prompt and reference art of characters to aid in the creation of all four covers. You will submit a sketch for each of the covers before moving on to the final illustration. At that point, we will provide a detailed critique of any changes that need to be made. This includes formatting and industry norms. Four is a goal number of covers completed. This is a sixty hour internship. You may be able to complete more or fewer illustrations in the allotted time. We will discuss this throughout the course of the project.

Social Media Marketing for a Fantasy Book Series

Hello! My name is Colin Dunbar, and I am the author of seven books, including my newest book, The Creator's Almanac. The book is a fantasy novel set in a distant future where demons roam the Earth. The story tackles issues of discrimination, corrupt governments, and revolution. It also follows characters through personal journeys of understanding identity, mortality, and absurdism. Through this project, you will read the first two books in the series, as well as Volume three, which is currently a work in progress. You will then help devise a plan to maximize the book's presence on social media.

Creating 8-12 Digital Illustrations for Book Series Artwork

Hello! My name is Colin Dunbar, and I am an author! I have published seven books and am looking for an illustrator to help me produce art for the next piece in the series. My books include Sanity in the Absurd, The Era of the Orb, The Creator's Almanac, and Nine Bodies in a Puddle. This internship will involve the production of 8-12 pieces of art for the book series. These include illustrations of characters, illustrations of climactic scenes, and promotional illustrations to be posted on social media. This project is an excellent opportunity to expand your portfolio and have your artwork featured in a published novel! The number of illustrations completed may vary slightly by internship, as some may take longer or less time per piece completed. This internship involves 60 hours of work. *Be sure to include some samples of your artwork when you apply!*
