Film Review and Festival Curation

Positions available: 4Our organization needs some help reviewing and rating film submissions to our film festival! Every year, we collect short films from youth filmmakers around the world, and create a festival collection that highlights diverse voices, unique stories, and the best work from emerging filmmakers. This position would involve filtering submissions to ensure that they meet our criteria, watching films, and rating them based on our selection guidelines. This is a remote position and would require access to a computer and internet.This project will require:A critical eye for qualities that make a strong film (not just production value)An understanding of our festival and the types of films we want to highlightSelf-discipline and time management skillsUse of your home computer and internet to access FilmFreewayWe will give you access to FilmFreeway, as well as personnel, training, and supervision. We hope to work with two project interns, for 10-20 hours per week for a total of 80 hours.

Film Development Research

Who We AreOne of Canada's leading documentary film and television companies.Our Current ChallengeFinding research and story support for the development of an upcoming feature documentary film that will explore environmental subject matter. The support would involve open-source story and location research, creative writing, and conducting background pre-interviews with subject experts and possible participants.Our Desired OutcomeA comprehensive research package that can support producers in identifying potential storylines and participants for the film.Student Day-to-Day Tasks Could Include:Scouring existing media coverage, books, and scientific literature to identify interesting stories and conceptsCreating in-depth research documents on subjects relevant to the filmCreating participant casting sheetsResearching and compiling potential locations for filming

Video Production

Positions available: 4 individual studentsOur organization needs some video production and editing help! We are looking for someone with video production experience who can help with original content creation for the purposes of promotion and exemplifying our youth programs, as well as post-production on films created by other participants in our programs. This would include collaboration with in-house project managers and post-production managers, and making the best short films possible with the available materials and time limitations. We believe this project will require:Creativity and ability to think outside of the boxCritical thinking and understanding of how to create strong, creative short filmsUnderstanding our production workflow and the requirements of individual projectsUnderstanding our video style, in terms of youth-made/program projects, promotional videos, and professional productsExperience with Adobe Premiere Pro and After EffectsStrong self-starting and teamwork skillsReliable communications and ability to meet deadlinesWe hope to work with up to 4 project interns, for 10-15 hours per week for a total of 80 hours.

Media Arts and Entertainment V2

We are recruiting multiple student interns for new Media Creative Arts & Entertainment Program within the GTA for multiple campaigns. Interns must be available right away. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization.
