Data Analytics Capstone Project
DAB402
This capstone course is aimed at enriching student success by combining the knowledge skills and tools students have learned throughout their program. The skills are used to complete a project on a real-world challenge presented by an instructor or an industry partner. Students will use appropriate analytics techniques and tools and best practices to present results to stakeholders. Students are familiar with Excel, Python, R, SQL and variety of other tools from prior coursework.
Machine Learning 2
DAB300
This is the second of two machine learning courses that students in our Data Analytics for Business graduate certificate program are required to take. Students gain skills in data representation, feature selection, model evaluation and improvement, as well using fully-connected and convolutional neural networks. This is a project based course where the students focus on building and applying statistical and predictive models in solving practical problems. All work is done in Python, although students will have varying familiarity with R and SQL from other coursework.
Data Analytics - Machine Learning
DAB 200
In this course, students will learn to identify what machine learning is and is not, be able to explain the different types of machine learning and describe its various applications. The basic structure of machine learning algorithms will be discussed in more general concepts as well, such as feature set, bias and variance, train/dev/test sets, and performance measures. The bulk of the course will focus on building and applying statistical and predictive models in solving practical problems.
