My name is Dana, and I am a fourth year student finishing my Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology and Sociology.
My career goals include continuing my education, and pursuing research. My research goals are interested in how psychology interacts with crime, violence, and the criminal justice system. I am most interested in areas such as victimology, risk perception, and effectiveness of criminal proceedings and rehabilitation of offenders.
I have been fortunate to gain work experience while attending school. My background has included years of working with individuals who have been impacted by violence, as a support worker at the family violence prevention center, and a volunteer at the sexual assault center of Edmonton.
On a person level, I like to spend time with my family/friends, I love horses and ride recreationally, and I love to read. I have played the saxophone since I was a child, and continue to do this today.-Dana

Phase 3: Knowledge Dissemination
to build relationships with the students and community partners in January, February, and March 2023.
CSVR Project Research Assistants
I have positions available for up to 4 students for 80 hours each to develop and implement an online experiment in the Psychology Crime Lab @ MacEwan (PCL@M) supervised by Dr. Sandy Jung. The students on this team would learn how to conduct a literature review on risk factors related to campus sexual violence, develop stimuli and dependent variables for an online experiment, contribute to completing an ethics application, and build the online experiment through a survey platform (i.e., Qualtrics). The goal of this research project is to engage undergraduate students in the development of an experiment that examines student perceptions of perpetrators who have committed campus sexual violence. The goal of this project for a student research assistant is to learn how to develop experiments to examine an empirical research question in the social sciences.
Children's Loose Parts Play Project Study 2 (Phase 2)
The proposed pilot study aims to address this critical gap by exploring 30 3- to 5-year-old children’s indoor LPP behaviour with their parents through qualitative and quantitative data collection and quantitative analyses. Using a pre-experimental design (12), children will be observed while playing with (I) open-ended materials (loose parts Box A) or (II) open-ended materials (loose parts Box B) or (III) single-/limited-purpose toys (control group). Our study aims to document crucial relationships between Loose Parts Play and children’s cognitive development while considering key social determinants such as gender, socioeconomic status (SES), and maternal education.
