B2C Product Launch to New Market Research

As a B2C company, our primary goal is creating products that are closely aligned to our market segment’s wants and needs, so that we can maximize our sales. We have recently created a new product to increase the breadth of our product line. It will be important to gather information on buying behaviour, experiences, expectations, and perception of both our brand and our largest competitors.Tasks may involve: Creating an unbiased survey with questions regarding consumer experience with our brand, perception of our products/services, and opinions on our competitors.Creating effective conversation questions for customer interviews.Determining the best way to reach customers and how to motivate them to provide feedback on the company (we will distribute the survey accordingly).Analyzing trends within primary data collected through the survey and interviews, and reporting on them.

Product Launch Strategy

We need insights to help anticipate the ramp-up to commercialization and the best approach to go to market successfully with our new product. Initial questions to brainstorm include, but are not limited to:1. Where in the world is the best place to launch for early success? What is the total market size for this opportunity?2. With whom should we partner on manufacturing, kitting, packaging, warehousing, and fulfillment? How complex is that and how much will it cost, realistically?3. Who are our closest competitors and how do we differentiate ourselves?4. How do we establish our brand: Build awareness, acquire customers, and defend any early success?We are looking to gain alternative perspectives on potential marketing tactics and better understand the current competitive market.

Marketing Plan

We hope to revamp our marketing strategy to attract more customers.We want students to help us build a marketing plan to grow and engage our target market.This will involve several different steps for the students, including:Familiarizing themselves with our current marketing goals and strategies.Researching how customers perceive our brand and marketing.Recommending new channels we should use for promotion.Identifying an appropriate budget for advertising.Bonus steps in the process would also include:Recommending updates to our messaging that can better explain our value proposition.

Website Development

Our company advertises thousands of products online. We hope to update and revamp our existing website to attract more customers.We would like to work with students to develop a new website that is easy to maintain while providing an appealing interface for users. This can be achieved through common site building tools such as Wix, Webflow, and WordPress.This will involve several different steps for the students, including:Researching different site-building tools and their associated advantages / disadvantages.Conducting a needs analysis to determine which platform is most suitable.Building a website, with our assistance in providing the content.Providing training on updating and maintaining the website.Bonus steps in the process would also include:Testing prototypes with customers and refining ideas with feedback.
