use case analysis pattern recognition investigative journalism resilience behavioral science criminological theory intelligence agency chatbot vulnerability criminologyThe Feminine Intelligence Agency (FIA) is a research lab and social impact organization dedicated to preventing psychological exploitation, coercive control, and relationship-based fraud. Our work sits at the intersection of technology, behavioral science, and public safety, with a focus on helping women recognize manipulation early and build the cognitive tools to resist it.
FIA develops cutting-edge tools such as interactive chatbots, trait-based profiling systems, and peer-to-peer wellness platforms that teach emotional resilience, pattern recognition, and social discernment. Our frameworks are informed by neuroscience, criminology, and trauma theory—designed not just to identify harm after the fact, but to predict and prevent dangerous relational dynamics before they escalate.
This project explores how psychological manipulation escalates into coercive control and, in severe cases, into criminal outcomes like domestic violence, fraud, or homicide. Using real-world case analysis, criminological theory, and publicly available datasets, students will build a knowledge model that identifies early warning signs (red flags) and how they interact with victim vulnerabilities to form dangerous relationship dynamics — what FIA terms a “lockmatch.”
Key Research Objectives:
- Analyze 30 real-world cases of manipulative or coercive individuals.
- Identify patterns of abuse, brain bias exploitation, and victim vulnerabilities.
- Assess publicly available datasets to validate and expand early detection models.
- Prototype a "lockmatch quotient" to predict high-risk relationship patterns.
Case Research Portfolio (30 Cases per Student)
- For each case, students will compile a detailed summary using multiple public sources (e.g., victim impact statements, legal filings, investigative journalism, court transcripts).
- Required sources include:
- PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records)
- News archives (e.g., The Guardian, New York Times, ProPublica)
- Documentaries, podcasts, and victim interviews where available.
- Each case entry should include:
- Summary of events (1–2 paragraphs)
- Identified red flags, tactics used by the perpetrator, and victim vulnerabilities
- Source citations and links to all materials used
- Mapped data fields into FIA’s “Lockmatch” system (traits, tactics, impact)
