PROJECT DESCRIPTION/DESCRIPTION DU PROJET:

memoryKPR is an early-stage start-up committed to protecting stories and memories for tomorrow. Our project includes finding untold compelling stories, using our mixed media story curation application to capture the story, building a recommended template for future stories of a similar theme and providing feedback and suggestions on the technology (use experience feedback as well as ideas for future design).

The project outcomes include:

1) A mixed media (photo's video, voice and text) memoryKPR project ,

2) A template or list of suggestions for a template on how to capture the specific type of stories (ex: questions to ask your grandparents to capture a story about family history)

3) Fedback to the product designers on what works and doesn't in the product and any suggestions on what else would be better

KEY PROJECT ACTIVITIES/TÂCHES ASSOCIÉES AU PROJET:

  • Capture pieces of the story through talking, looking through old pictures (and adding them into a memoryKPR), recording some voice recordings and some short video clips
  • Creating the story in memoryKPR's digital platform and organizing it
  • Providing feedback on templates that would be helpful as well as features and changes to the application to make it easier for everyday users

IDEAL ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES/RÔLES/RESPONSABILITÉS:*

  • Ideal students are ones that may access unique stories across Canada - our deal stories include one honoring our Indigenous community members experiences and culture, one that captures a family history, a grandparents interview, a war survivor, a new immigrant feature, life in a remote/unique town, family history, milestone celebration. These are examples we are open to the student's ideas too.
  • all three students will work on Story capture, just focusing on different story types
  • Ideally looking for media, journalism, communications and or arts/design and film making type students
  • software development and or testing students would also provide good assets to this project

FINAL PROJECT DELIVERABLES/LIVRABLES DU PROJET:

  • Each student will provide a completed 'story' of a compelling story, told through their eyes but using the memoryKPR platform
  • Each student will provide feedback on the platform itself
  • Each student will provide a draft template that memoryKPR can offer future clients as a guide on how to capture specific types of stories
